History
Allianz Fire and Marine Insurance Japan Ltd. was established as a 100% capitalized company of the Allianz Group in 1990, after it became the first European insurer to win approval to set up a wholly-owned general insurance subsidiary in Japan.
Corporate history and development of capital
November 1990:
Established the company in Minato-ku, Tokyo with a paid-in capital of 2 billion yen.
December 1990:
Acquired a Non-life insurance business license in Japan.
April 1991:
Started business mainly with German companies in Japan.
April 1993:
Established a branch office in Osaka.
September 1995:
Increased paid-in capital of 500 million yen, and total amount of paid-in capital became 2.5 billion yen.
April 1999:
Assurance Generales de France (AGF) Tokyo office was integrated into Allianz Fire and Marine Insurance Japan Ltd. (Exclusive of credit insurance)
March 2000:
Increased paid-in capital of 1 billion yen, and total amount of paid-in capital became 3.5 billion yen.
February 2006:
Became the first Non-life insurance company to acquire a pet insurance license in Japan.
March 2007:
Increased paid-in capital of 300 million yen, and total amount of paid-in capital became 3.8 billion yen.
March 2008:
Increased paid-in capital of 300 million yen, and total amount of paid-in capital became 4.1 billion yen.
March 2009:
Increased paid-in capital of 267 million yen, and total amount of paid-in capital became 4.367 billion yen.
March 2010:
Increased paid-in capital of 370 million yen, and total amount of paid-in capital became 4.737 billion yen.
March 2011:
Increased paid-in capital of 500 million yen, and total amount of paid-in capital became 5,237 billion yen.
April 2011:
Transferred pet insurance business to AXA General Insurance Company Limited.
June 2011:
Closed a branch office in Osaka
